Jan Richardson

Jan Richardson, Ph.D., is an educational consultant who travels throughout the United States training teachers and providing classroom demonstrations on guided reading. A former classroom teacher (she has taught in every grade K-12), reading specialist, Reading Recovery teacher leader, and staff developer, Jan is well-known for her hands-on, engaging presentations. Her latest book is The Next Step in Guided Reading: Focused Assessments and Targeted Lessons for Helping Every Student Become a Better Reader. Jan is passionate about motivating and accelerating all readers from emergent to fluent.
